SNA Software releases DECM 3.6.1 Update

SNA Software releases DECM 3.6.1 Update

SNA Software LLC is excited to announce that it has updated its Data Driven EVM Compliance Metrics (DECM) capabilities to the latest version 3.6.1 published by the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA). DECM is used by DCMA to assess the validity of program management data being submitted by suppliers to the Department of Defense and some federal agencies. SNA Software's Proteus Envision product is used by DCMA to apply its DECM test metrics, and its software used to validate the data for billions of DoD and federal program dollars, involving the proper capture and analysis of millions of data records.

Of the 143 total test metrics included in this version, SNA Software LLC has validated all of the roughly 70 automated test metrics to the expected results provided in the latest DCMA dataset revision. SNA's Proteus Envision also provides a conduit for the remaining manual tests to be recorded and progress in qualitative results reviewed through time-phasing visualization of the data.

The DCMA DECM dataset revisions encompass nearly 24 data assessment scenarios consisting of 3,600 test metric results that SNA used to validate and match to 100% fidelity against the DCMA expected results. Along with this update, SNA Software has updated miscellaneous outputs like nulling results when datasets are missing and updating test score logic when denominator test is N/A. This update coupled with the prior release of functional enhancements to the Proteus Envision DECM solution will provide the most up-to-date and powerful solution on the market to calculate, assess and report on DECM results.

Commenting on the release Matt Pitstick, the CTO of SNA Software, commented: “With the open architecture of Proteus Envision, DCMA throughout the years has been internally modifying our test metric code to get the outputs they expected, as well as to validate CCB changes to the tests simultaneously as they’re released to the public. We have always maintained version updates in parallel, but through this validation our commercial customers can have confidence that Proteus Envision for DECM will show the same results as the agency, regardless of the variability of their EVMS system descriptions and underlying applications, and be up-to-date.”

SNA will be releasing the update to Proteus Envision DECM to its other government and commercial customers over the course of the month of January 2021. As with all functional upgrades under Proteus' unique technology, customers can update their configurations without need to run the update through special testing or validation as with hard-coded software releases--another advantage of the SNA approach to software solutions.
